  Integrated optimal method for cell formation and layout problems based on hybrid SA algorithm with fuzzy simulation
  Abstract
To adapt to the complex and changeable market environment, the cell formation problems (CFPs) and the cell layout problems (CLPs) with fuzzy demands were optimized simultaneously. Firstly, CFPs and CLPs were described formally. To deal with the uncertainty fuzzy parameters brought, a chance constraint was introduced. A mathematical model was established with an objective function of minimizing intracell and intercell material handling cost. As the chance constraint of this problem could not be converted into its crisp equivalent, a hybrid simulated annealing(HSA) based on fuzzy simulation was put forward. Finally, simulation experiments were conducted under different confidence levels. Results indicated that the proposed hybrid algorithm was feasible and effective.

  Incremental learning of the triangular membership functions based on singlepass FCM and CHC genetic model
  Abstract
In order to improve the efficiency of learning the triangular membership functions (TMFs) for mining fuzzy association rule (FAR) in dynamic database, a singlepass fuzzy c means (SPFCM) algorithm is combined with the realcoded CHC genetic model to incrementally learn the TMFs. The cluster centers resulting from SPFCM are regarded as the midpoint of TMFs. The population of CHC is generated randomly according to the cluster center and constraint conditions among TMFs. Then a new population for incremental learning is composed of the excellent chromosomes stored in the first genetic process and the chromosomes generated based on the cluster center adjusted by SPFCM. The experiments on real datasets show that the number of generations converging to the solution of the proposed approach is less than that of the existing batch learning approach. The quality of TMFs generated by the approach is comparable to that of the batch learning approach. Compared with the existing incremental learning strategy, the proposed approach is superior in terms of the quality of TMFs and time cost.

  egmentsbased progressive TIN densification filter for DTM generation from airborne LIDAR data
  Abstract
Airborne light detection and ranging (LIDAR) has revolutionized conventional methods for digital terrain models (DTMs) acquisition. Ground filtering for airborne LIDAR is one of the core steps taken to obtain a high quality DTM. This paper presents a segmentsbased progressive TIN (triangulated irregular network) densification (SPTD) filter that can automatically separate ground points from nonground points. The SPTD method is composed of two key steps: point cloud segmentation and clustering by iterative judgement. The clustering method uses the dual distance to obtain a set of seed points as a coarse spatial clustering process. Then the rest of the valid point clouds are classified iteratively. Finally, the datasets provided by ISPRS are utilized to test the filtering performance. In comparison with the commercial software TerraSolid, the experimental results show that the SPTD method in this paper can avoid single threshold restrictions. The expected accuracy of ground point determination is capable of producing reliable DTMs in the discontinuous areas.

  Experimental study on pressure fluctuation characteristics of slug flow in horizontal curved tubes
  Abstract
In order to study the pressure characteristics of slug flow in horizontal curved tubes, two kinds of curved tubes with central angle 45° and 90° respectively are studied, of which are with 0.5m circumference and 26mm inner diameter are used. When the superficial liquid velocity or the superficial gas velocity is constant, the pressure fluctuations and the probability distribution of the average velocity of slug flow are clear for all of the five experimental conditions. The results of experiment show that the pressure characteristics of slug flow in curved tubes have periodic fluctuations. With the rise of central angle, the period of pressure fluctuation is more obvious. The system pressure of the slug flow increases with the increasing of superficial liquid/gas velocity.Meanwhile,the probability distribution of pressure signal shows regularity, such as unimodal, bimodal or multimodal.

  Network coding resources optimization with transmission delay constraint in multicast networks
  Abstract
Minimizing network coding resources of multicast networks, such as the number of coding nodes or links, has been proved to be NPhard, and taking propagation delay into account makes the problem more complicated. To resolve this optimal problem, an integer encoding routingbased genetic algorithm (REGA) is presented to map the optimization problem into a genetic algorithm (GA) framework. Moreover, to speed up the search process of the algorithm, an efficient local search procedure which can reduce the searching space size is designed for searching the feasible solution. Compared with the binary link state encoding representation genetic algorithm (BLSGA), the chromosome length of REGA is shorter and just depends on the number of sinks. Simulation results show the advantages of the algorithm in terms of getting the optimal solution and algorithmic convergence speed.

  Research on stateful public key based secure data aggregation model for wireless sensor networks
  Abstract
Data aggregation technology reduces traffic overhead of wireless sensor network and extends effective working time of the network, yet continued operation of wireless sensor networks increases the probability of aggregation nodes being captured and probability of aggregated data being tampered. Thus it will seriously affect the security performance of the network. For network security issues, a stateful public key based SDAM (secure data aggregation model) is proposed for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which employs a new stateful public key encryption to provide efficient endtoend security. Moreover, the security aggregation model will not impose any bound on the aggregation function property, so as to realize the low cost and high security level at the same time.

  Echostatenetwork classification based multiservices awareness in highspeed optical passive networks
  Abstract
With the challenge of great growing of services diversity, serviceoriented supporting ability is required by current highspeed passive optical network (PON). Aimed at enhancing the quality of service (QoS) brought by diversifiedservices, this study proposes an echo state network (ESN) based multiservice awareness mechanism in 10Gigabite ethernet passive optical network (10GEPON). In the proposed approach, distributed architecture is adopted to realize this ESN based multiservice awareness. According to the network architecture of 10GEPON, where a main ESN is running in OLT and a number of ESN agents works in ONUs. The mainESN plays the main function of serviceawareness from the total view of various kinds of services in 10GEPON system, by full ESN training. Then, the reservoir information of welltrained ESN in OLT will be broadcasted to all ONUs and those ESN agents working in ONUs are allowed to conduct independent serviceawareness function. Thus, resources allocation and transport policy are both determined only in ONUs. Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is able to better support the ability of multiple services.

  A GA approach to vehicle routing problem with time windows considering loading constraints
  Abstract
As a new variant of vehicle routing problem (VRP), a finished vehicle routing problem with time windows in finished vehicle logistics (FVRPTW) is modeled and solved. An optimization model for FVRPTW is presented with the objective of scheduling multiple transport routes considering loading constraints along with time penalty function to minimize the total cost. Then a genetic algorithm (GA) is developed. The specific encoding and genetic operators for FVRPTW are devised. Especially, in order to accelerate its convergence, an improved termination condition is given. Finally, a case study is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and a series of experiments are conducted over a set of finished vehicle routing problems. The results demonstrate that the proposed approach has superior performance and satisfies users in practice. Contributions of the study are the modeling and solving of a complex FVRPTW in logistics industry.

  Life prediction and test period optimization research based on small sample reliability test of hydraulic pumps
  Abstract
Hydraulic pumps belong to reliable longlife hydraulic components. The reliability evaluation includes characters such as long test period, high cost, and high power loss and so on. Based on the principle of energysaving and power recovery, a small sample hydraulic pump reliability test rig is built, and the service life of hydraulic pump is predicted, and then the sampling period of reliability test is optimized. On the basis of considering the performance degradation mechanism of hydraulic pump, the feature information of degradation distribution of hydraulic pump volumetric efficiency during the test is collected, so an optimal degradation path model of feature information is selected from the aspect of fitting accuracy, and pseudo life data are obtained. Then a small sample reliability test of period constrained optimization search strategy for hydraulic pump is constructed to solve the optimization problem of the test sampling period and tightening end threshold, and it is verified that the accuracy of the minimum sampling period by the nonparametric hypothes is tested. Simulation result shows it could possess instructional significance and referenced value for hydraulic pump reliability life evaluation and the test’s research and design.

  Docking process on hybrid selfreconfigurable modular robots
  Abstract
A novel hybrid selfreconfigurable modular robot is designed to finish the morphing action from line shape to hexagon shape. The robot is composed of many basic modules, each of which consists of a master module and a slave module in the shape of triangular prism. There are four connection ports on each basic module. For the master module there are two holes on each connection port, and for the slave one there are two pegs on each connection. The docking process between two neighboring basic modules is analyzed with a peginhole mechanical structure. A small motion’s method is presented and the contact forces are derived. According to the force/moment, the pose of a motion module should be adjusted to make two neighboring modules align and finish the docking process. Finally, a simulation of 3 basic modules is shown to finish the morphing and docking process effectively. The system can finish the morphing task from the line shape to the hexagon shape.

  Research on intelligent ultrasonic thickness measurement system applied to large area of hull
  Abstract
For a ship in service, seawater corrosion is unavoidable. In order to ensure navigation safety and master the steel plate thickness in service ship, thickness of the ship steel plate must be tested periodically by a scientific method. After consideration of an actual situation of thickness measurement, the bearing mechanism of ultrasonic thickness meter probe has been designed on the basis of wallclimbing robot, and preliminary experiments have been carried out. The device is mainly used for thickness measurement of a large area of ship hull plate when the docking ship has been sandblasted. Efficiency and safety can be improved to finish thickness measurement by using the device.

  A clustered routing protocol based on energy and link quality in WSNs
  Abstract
Influenced by the environment and nodes status, the quality of link is not always stable in actual wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Poor links result in retransmissions and more energy consumption. So link quality is an important issue in the design of routing protocol which is not considered in most traditional clustered routing protocols. A based on energy and link quality’s routing protocol (EQRP) is proposed to optimize the clustering mechanism which takes into account energy balance and link quality factors. EQRP takes the advantage of high quality links to increase success rate of single communication and reduce the cost of communication. Simulation shows that, compared with traditional clustered protocol, EQRP can perform 40% better, in terms of life cycle of the whole network.

  Coupling methods of global climate models and regional climate models
  Abstract
The future climate dynamical downscaling method is that output of general circulation models (GCMs) is employed to provide initial conditions, lateral boundary conditions, sea surface temperatures, and initial land surface conditions to regional climate models (RCMs). There are two methods of downscaling: offline coupling and online coupling. The two kinds of coupling methods are described in detail by coupling the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF) with the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences Atmospheric General Circulation Model Version 4.0 (IAP AGCM4.0) in the study. And the extreme precipitation event over Beijing on July 21 2012 is simulated by using the two coupling methods. Results show that online coupling method is of great value in improving the model simulation. Furthermore, the data exchange frequency of online coupling has some effect on simulation result.
